Santa’s Workshop

As we all know, Santa and his elves are very, very busy at this time of year.  BUT you can pop over to Fed Square for a free photo with Santa (at a COVID-safe distance of course ) and watch his little elves tinker beyond the handsome nutcracker guards! 🧝‍♂️ 🍪🥛

2.  Christmas Square

While we are already here talkin’ about the festive Fed Square, you gotta check out the dazzlin’ 16-metre-high Christmas tree which stands in the heart of the famous square! 🎄🎀

If you think this tree looks mesmerising during the day – just you WAIT till the sun sets!  When the night awakens, the dazzling structure lights up with a gorgeous festive glow  🤩🤩🤩

3.   Dockland’s Christmas Maze

Ever wanted to get lost in a Christmas wonderland?  Now’s your chance g. 💁🏽‍♀️

Help Santa find his elves by making your way through a giant present-themes maze for a chance to win some crazzzzzy prizes – including family passes to Imaginaria, O’Brien Ice House, ArtVo, Chipmunks Playland & many more!! 🎁 

This maze is sure to get them brain cells buzzin’ – just don’t get too lost in there! 😜

4. Chapter House Lane – Christmas Projections 

Walk into Santa’s ultimate wonderland at Chapter House Lane, where 270º of animated projections shine all over the stunning faces of St Paul’s Cathedral, Chapter House & Torrens University! ⛪️ 🔔  🎉

Bring your family, friends and even kids to experience the ho-ho-wholesome magic of Christmas.

5.  Geelong City Hall – Christmas Projections

Before you ask us – YES!  ❤️🤍💛

YES – Geelong indeed has it’s own extraordinary light show at its city hall, and it’s quite the digital wonderland we must say!  The stunning medley of lights & animations screen nightly from 8:30 – 11:30pm.    

If you want the ultimate Geelong XMAS experience  – simply walk down to the Waterfront watch the Floating Christmas Tree’s famous light show.  These two entertaining XMAS attractions go hand-in-hand for a festive night! ( scroll down to #10 for more info! )

6.  Koorie Krismas

Fed Square will see a visit from the Koorie Klaus this Koorie Krismas!  In case you didn’t know, Koorie Krismas is a First Nations celebration which involves exiting live entertainment from Indigenous Australian musicians, dancers and poets!  It also includes market stalls, workshops & a special visit from Koorie Klaus himself – whaaaaaaa?! 🎅 

We are stoked that this fun-filled event has come back to Fed Square – it is a VIBE and a half! 🕺🏽🕺🏽

7. Carols by Candlelight

🕯 MELBOURNE FAM – Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight is held at Sidney Myer Music Bowl every year on Christmas Eve.  It is here you can gather with your family & friends to raise funds for Vision Australia’s children’s services, while experiencing the magic of Christmas with wholesome carols & your favourite Aussie musicians! 🎤

Yep,  Vision Australia’s  Carols by Candlelight has provided thousands of children in need with early learning & development programs, braille & tactile learning kits, accessibility services, white cane training, as well as employability programs for teenagers so they can gain an understanding of financial literacy, resume writing and building emotional resilience in the workplace 🥺🤎

🕯 GEELONG FAM – Unfortunately Geelong’s 57-year tradition of hosting Carols by Candlelight at Johnstone Park will not be staged this year.  However, it is due to be broadcasted on C31 (Channel 34) on Xmas Eve! 💁🏽‍♀️

8.  Christmas Festival of the Lights (Geelong)

Adventure Park’s Christmas Festival of the Lights is as magical as Christmas can get.  With over 2.7million light installations which guide you along an enchanting trail, you will feel as if you’re walking on a dream. ✨☁️🔮

Be amazed by their brand new Lunar Lanterns Exhibit, which include a delicacy of stunning oriental lanterns, a 20m long majestic dragon and animals from the zodiac which lay in its undercover pavilion!  Watch as giant toys, sculptured animals and enchanted gardens light up before your eyes, a dazzling set of displays you won’t forget. 🌟

With a ton of rides, food & beverage options, professional Santa photos, Christmas Craft Workshops, and free face painting – your kids will never want to leave!!   Aaaand for the big kids – if you couldn’t get enough of these stunning lights last year, Adventure Park has extended itsilluminated pathway by 2km – say whaaaaaaaaaaaa?! (oki brb, we’re jetting there rn) 🤩🤩🤩

9.  Santa Pet Photography @ Westfield

Why should your furry friends miss out on all the Christmas fun?  Dress em up & bring them along for a Santa photo with the whole fambam!!  After all, your pet is a member of the family! 🐶 🐾 📸

10.  The Floating Christmas Tree (Geelong)

Is it reaaaaally Christmas in Geelong if you haven’tvisited the giant, floating Christmas tree at the Waterfront?!  The tree is 25 metres tall and floats at Steampacket Quay, Waterfront Geelong (right near the Carousel! ). 🎄 🌟 

With its 11,000 reflective metallic discs, the famous tree is designed to reflect Geelong’s stunning bay, and ever-changing sky during the day – kiiinda like a disco ball!  However when the sun goes down, the ten-tonne tree summons a spectacular performance of brights LED lights that are synchronised to beloved Christmas carols. 

It is an attraction that never fails to bring a smile to thousands of faces every year!  😍
